De-Google
First thing is to change your default search engine to DuckDuckGo. This is found in settings. Change it in both normal browsing and private browsing settings.
But wait, there is another place where Google is hiding – Manage alternative search engines. I changed it to wikipedia.
Privacy Settings
You probably should switch Enhanced Tracking Protection to Strict. Note that some sites might not work properly.
Under data collection I turn off everything and only allow crash reports to be sent only after asking.
Two must have extensions are uBlock Origins (ad blocker) and Privacy Badger (blocks trackers).
I should also mention you should enable HTTPS-Only mode.
AI In Firefox
Oh, I forgot to mention you might not want Artifical Intelligence on your Firefox. Go to AI Controls and just switch on Block All AI enhancements.
Alternative to Firefox
If you prefer something like Chrome, the Brave Browser is probably the best option.
